Seniors Don’t Have Enough Slip Guards
You may love rugs and have several beautiful ones all over the house, but the truth is they need to be guarded so you don’t slip and fall. These will keep the rugs from moving around, so you will always have a secure step no matter where you walk. Rugs often make seniors fall, and this is something that companion care at home has had to deal with many times. The best thing you can do is either get rid of all tripping hazards or buy cheap guards for your rugs.
Poor Diet
You may not think about a diet being a huge risk, but the truth is all seniors should focus on healthy eating. When a senior has a poor diet, it can lead to a range of health issues. Nutrient deficiencies may weaken their immune system, making them more susceptible to infections and illnesses. Additionally, poor nutrition can contribute to chronic conditions like diabetes, heart disease, and osteoporosis while also affecting energy levels and overall well-being, which can significantly impact their quality of life. Too Many Pets
One or two animals may be perfectly manageable, but more than that can be hard and a huge risk for a senior. Rugs can be a tripping hazard, but so can cords. This is absolutely dangerous because you may not see them, and you can hurt yourself so badly while falling. The best thing you can do is go through the walkways and keep it clear of any cords or clutter. If there is no way to get rid of the cords in one area, tape them down so you won’t fall over them.
