  • Laura Wentling

    President & Partner

    Laura has been involved in the home care industry for more than 25 years. She knows all aspects of the business and what it takes to provide excellent customer service. Her ability to focus on clients and personal attendants on an individual basis makes her an outstanding leader. Maintaining a standard of professionalism and quality with her administrative staff and personal attendants through direct interaction, is a goal which Laura strives to meet daily. Laura is a “hands on” partner and is always available to meet with both our clients and personal attendants when needed.

  • Regina Barmore

    Director of Operations & Partner

    Regina is the person in the office than can do just about everything and loves the daily interaction with staff, personal attendants and clients. Primarily she assists the President and Vice President when needed. Her background includes working within the home care industry since 2006 and working for Kaiser Permanente for 35 years in the Communications Department. Regina has been married to David for almost 25 years. She has 3 daughters, 2 stepdaughters and 9 grandchildren. During her free time, she enjoys listening to audio books while she knits and crochets. Regina has donated at least 300 handmade blankets to children and adults in need of a little extra warmth.

  • Pam Greene

    Vice President/Client Care Manager

    Pam has many years of nursing experience in a variety of settings ranging from school nursing, nursing homes, hospital and doctor’s offices (with the latter being over 20 years in Dermatology).  She has worked in various positions from staff nurse to charge nurse to office coordinator.  She enjoys having a lot of variety in her jobs and life. Pam is a mother of two wonderful sons that she has the pleasure of being involved in the many transitions in their lives.  Pam’s passions are organization, various crafts, being physically active, and spending time with friends and family. She loves working with the elderly and feels she has a calling to work with hospice.

  • Donna Cassidy

    Client Care Manager

    Donna has over 45 years of nursing experience in Acute Care, Home Care, Home Health Care, and Hospice. Donna also has management experience as a Director of Nursing, Branch Manager, and Regional Manager in Home Health Care. In addition to her other experiences, Donna has an extensive background in teaching. Donna has 2 sons, Michael and Bill (both retired police officers),6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She enjoys golfing, crochet, and quilting. Donna is very excited to be a part Familiar Surroundings Home Care at this time in her career.

  • Christopher Whitley

    Accounting Specialist

    Christopher is responsible for billing, payments, invoices, and various accounting functions. His background involves accounts receivable and payable, as well as business owner where he learned all the intricacies of operations. He enjoys being organized and multi-tasking at work. In his spare time, Christopher enjoys cycling, running, hiking, and the outdoors.

  • Esmeralda Uribe

    Human Resource Manager

    Esmeralda came to Familiar Surroundings with an eagerness to learn about home care and to apply her 9+ years of pharmaceutical customer service representative experience. Esmeralda oversees the hiring of our quality caregivers, conducts the onboarding training for new hires, and organizes and assists in teaching ongoing in-service training. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her children, salsa dancing, and loves attending sports events.

  • Michael Wentling

    Community Relations Representative

    Michael spent the last 30+ years in public service, first in the United States Army, then as a San Jose Police Sergeant. Upon his retirement from police work, he joined the family business to continue his passion for helping others. In his free time, Michael enjoys being part of several service groups such as Rotary Club and American Legion where he can continue to give back to the community. He also enjoys playing golf and any other outdoor activity.

  • Joshua Wentling

    Community Relations Representative

    As a community relations representative, Joshua is responsible for educating the community about senior care. Joshua loves working with people, especially helping seniors directly, making them feel comfortable and ensuring they receive the best possible care. In his previous employment, he worked customer service in the low voltage and data industry. In his free time, he enjoys being active by playing sports and spending time with his pets.

  • Stephanie Hughes

    Client Service Coordinator

    Stephanie Hughes is the Lead Client Service Coordinator at Familiar Surroundings. In addition to overseeing all Client Service Coordinators, she shares coordination of caregivers for Santa Clara and Santa Cruz County clients. Stephanie is a dedicated and compassionate member of the Familiar Surroundings team, and she strives to provide clients with outstanding service and caregivers with a fantastic working experience. Stephanie has worked in the home-care industry for four years and has a background in human resources. Stephanie is a San Jose local resident, and she enjoys spending time outdoors and with her children.

  • Shannon Sanchez

    Client Service Coordinator

    Shannon Sanchez is a Client Service Coordinator at Familiar Surroundings. She shares coordination of caregivers for Santa Clara and San Mateo County clients. As a Client Service Coordinator, Shannon is the first line of contact for her clients and their caregivers. She is committed to ensuring that clients receive exceptional service and that caregivers enjoy their working experience. Shannon is a Bay Area local resident, having resided in east San Jose for the majority of her life. Shannon earned her Bachelor's degree in psychology from New York University. Shannon has previously worked in child welfare and plans to dedicate her life to the field of social services. In her free time, Shannon enjoys spending time in nature and playing the ukulele.

  • Jessica Torres

    Client Service Coordinator

    Jessica is a Client Service Coordinator at Familiar Surroundings. She shares coordination of caregivers for Santa Clara and Contra Costa County clients. As a Client Service Coordinator, Jessica is the first line of contact for her clients and their caregivers. She is committed to ensuring that clients receive exceptional service and that caregivers enjoy their working experience. Jessica is a hard-working and diligent member of the Familiar Surroundings team with six years of customer service experience. Jessica is a Bay Area local resident, and enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors and crafting.

  • Denise Huber

    Administrative Assistant

    Denise Huber is a seasoned Administrative Assistant with over 30 years experience. Having held positions in various business fields, Denise has spent the past 8 years working with Home Care Companies that provide services for seniors. She is passionate about assisting seniors with their needs and appreciates the dedicated caregivers that provide these services. Denise is able to tailor her best skills in assisting Familiar Surroundings with their daily operations. Her contributions in organizing, helping executive staff with special projects, and attention to detail has supported a harmonious and successful work environment within the company. In addition to her duties as an Administrative Assistant, Denise is also active and involved with the Classic Car Communities of Santa Clara County. Denise spent the past 9 years restoring a 1968 Mustang Coupe and enjoys attending car show events. Additionally, she participates in giving back to the community by donating her time in assisting the Second Harvest Food Bank with their annual fundraising needs and is a yearly contributor to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

     

  • Sarah Wentling

    Administrative Assistant

    Sarah has been working in the home care field for over 5 years. Before coming into the home care field, she spent most of her time teaching ballet and many other forms of dance as well school activities. Sarah is patient, kind, and dedicated to her work, which makes her an asset to the administrative staff. Sarah helps manage the front desk, and many other administrative responsibilities. When Sarah is not working, she is pursuing two separate Bachelor's degrees at San Jose State University. Sarah’s hobbies include many forms of dance, hiking, and going to the beach.
