Laura has been involved in the home care industry for more than 25 years. She knows all aspects of the business and what it takes to provide excellent customer service. Her ability to focus on clients and personal attendants on an individual basis makes her an outstanding leader. Maintaining a standard of professionalism and quality with her administrative staff and personal attendants through direct interaction, is a goal which Laura strives to meet daily. Laura is a “hands on” partner and is always available to meet with both our clients and personal attendants when needed.

Vice President
Christopher is responsible for managing business operations, strategic, and financial responsibilities. His background involves accounting, as well as business owner where he learned all the intricacies of operations. He enjoys being organized and multi-tasking at work. In his spare time, Christopher enjoys cycling, running, hiking, and the outdoors.

Pam Greene
RN Care Manager
Pam has multiple years of nursing experience in a variety of settings ranging from school nursing, nursing homes, hospitals, doctor’s offices and hospice. She enjoys having a lot of variety in her jobs and personal life. Pam is the mother of two wonderful sons and she enjoys spending time with them. Pam’s passions are organization, various crafts, being physically active, working around her house, and spending time with friends and family. She loves working with the elderly and enjoys being a part of the Familiar Surroundings Home Care family.

Human Resources
With nearly a decade of experience in the home care field, Sarah has built her career around helping people feel supported and understood. Her bachelor’s degree in dance and her associate’s degree in communication along with years spent teaching shaped her patience, discipline, empathy, and communication style. These strengths play a key role in her work, where she is dedicated to creating a welcoming, positive experience for applicants, caregivers, and her administrative team. Organized, dependable, and willing to help, she brings a thoughtful, people-focused approach to everything she does. Outside of work, you can find her competing in different dance styles, spending time outdoors, and going to see live music.

Denise Huber
New Client Specialist
Denise Huber is a seasoned Administrative Assistant with over 30 years’ experience. Having held positions in various business fields, Denise has spent the past 15 years working with Home Care Companies providing services for seniors. She is enthusiastic and passionate about assisting seniors with their needs and appreciates the dedicated caregivers that provide these services. Denise can tailor her best skills in assisting Familiar Surroundings with their daily operations and incoming new client assistance. Her contributions in organizing, helping executive staff with special projects, and diligence have supported a harmonious and successful work environment with the company. In addition to her duties, Denise is also active and participates in giving back to the community by donating her time in assisting the Second Harvest Food Bank with their annual fundraising needs and is a yearly contributor to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Denise enjoys spending time with her classic car family, cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.

Michael Wentling
Community Relations Representative
Michael spent the last 30+ years in public service, first in the United States Army, then as a San Jose Police Sergeant. Upon his retirement from police work, he joined the family business to continue his passion for helping others. In his free time, Michael enjoys being part of several service groups such as Rotary Club and American Legion where he can continue to give back to the community. He also enjoys playing golf and any other outdoor activity.

Joshua Wentling
Community Relations Representative
Joshua is a Community Relations Representative at Familiar Surroundings Home Care, where he helps educate the community about in-home senior care and connects families with the support they need. Joshua is passionate about working with people, especially seniors, and takes pride in making clients feel comfortable while ensuring they receive the highest quality of care. He brings a strong customer service background from his previous work in the low voltage and data industry, where he developed a commitment to responsiveness and building trust. A Bay Area local, Joshua enjoys staying active by playing sports and spending time with his pets.

Daniel Wentling
Before joining Familiar Surroundings full time, I spent more than 10 years as a teacher and coach. During that time, I was always cheering on the purple and green and the positive impact Familiar Surroundings has on the lives of the people and families it serves.
I originally began helping the company with creative projects, including logos and design, before eventually joining the team full time. Today, I get to wear a lot of different hats, supporting marketing, social media, events, employee needs, and whatever else I can do to help.
I enjoy working with a team, being creative, and finding ways to be helpful behind the scenes. I’m grateful to be part of Familiar Surroundings and to contribute to a company that has been making a difference in people’s lives for so many years.

Jessica is a Client Service Coordinator at Familiar Surroundings. She shares coordination of caregivers for Santa Clara and Contra Costa County clients. As a Client Service Coordinator, Jessica is the first line of contact for her clients and their caregivers. She is committed to ensuring that clients receive exceptional service and that caregivers enjoy their working experience. Jessica is a hard-working and diligent member of the Familiar Surroundings team with six years of customer service experience. Jessica is a Bay Area local resident, and enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors and crafting.

Monica has recently joined the Familiar Surroundings Home Care family but has been serving our Santa Clara and San Mateo community for a little over four years. Monica is committed to serve our clients and caregivers with exceptional customer service. Monica is also a Bay Area Native! When Monica is not working you can find her spending time with her family, friends, and her 2 cats. Some of Monica's hobbies include shopping, dinning experience, traveling, and arts & crafts.

Mell is a deeply valued Community Relations Representative with Familiar Surrounding Home Care, responsible for educating the community about senior care. Mell joined our team with more than 10 years of experience in health care during which time she gained knowledge and experience with hospice, home health, acute and skilled nursing. She is also skilled in financial marketing. Mell loves mingling, assisting staff, patients and their families and educating the community. Among her greatest passions is creating awareness regarding compassionate senior home care in our community. When Mell is not providing excellent services for Familiar Surroundings, she can be found pursuing her other passions such as singing and dancing and serving her community in many other different ways. Her hobbies are in alignment with her number one goal in life – To “Do Good” wherever she goes.

Hi, my name is Aliyah. I’m a Human Resources Coordinator at Familiar Surrounding Home Care. I’ve been in the medical field for more than 6 years, and enjoy helping others. I have experience as a CNA, and understand the responsibility a person takes on when caring for a loved one. I’m always looking for ways to further my experience in healthcare, and my growth as a person. I stand by the core values of the company, and look forward to helping our clients. When I’m not working, I’m usually with my family or friends, or go on hikes with my dog. I love a good cup of coffee/boba, and appreciate a good book to read.

She has a special fondness for dogs and volunteers with Sean's K-9s, an organization close to her heart, where she gets to support a meaningful cause while doing something she loves. Warm and personable, Kristina enjoys meeting new people, building connections, and being there for others whenever they need a helping hand.
