Holiday Office Hours
Our office will be closed on both Monday, December 25th, and Monday, January 1st in observance of the holidays. If you need anything, please call the office. (408) 979-9990
Time Off for the Holidays
Holidays are approaching, so please give the office a TWO-week notice so we can adjust your schedules with your clients. Plan accordingly and communicate with the staff at Familiar Surroundings Home Care (408) 979-9990.
Calling Off for Shifts
If you are calling off after office hours (8:30a-5:30p),please make sure you speak with the staffing coordinator who is on call for that day. Do NOT text the Kantime system or office staff cell phones. Call the office directly. We must be aware that you will be taking the time off so that we can act accordingly. We understand that emergencies arise, but we want to avoid leaving our clients without care. We also need the details if this is related to sick time.

What Are Your Options to Clock In and Clock Out?
- Clocking in and out with your Kantime Private Duty App on your smartphone. With this app, you can see your schedule, enter your daily tasks, enter your mileage, and answer the screening questions.
- Using the client’s phone, you can call the telephone phone number provided on your badge. While on the phone you can clock in and out, enter your daily tasks, and add your mileage.
- Call the office to clock in and out. This is the last option. If your Kantime Private Duty App does not work or you are unable to use the client’s phone, you may call the office to let your staffing coordinators know when you are ready to clock in or out.

Used Gloves
Reminder to always change your gloves and perform hand hygiene during client care if gloves become damaged or gloves become visibly soiled following a task. Never wear the same pair of gloves in the care of more than one patient or return to the same patient on the same day or the next day. Carefully remove gloves to prevent hand contamination. Gloves are not a substitute for hand hygiene. Perform hand hygiene immediately after removing gloves. If you need glove supplies, please do not hesitate to contact our office.
